Journal With My Diary – Privacy Policy
Last updated: 03 Nov 2025
This Privacy Policy applies to the Journal App (hereby referred to as “Application”) for mobile devices that was created by PixelCodeStudios (hereby referred to as “Service Provider”) as a Free service. This service is intended for use “AS IS”.
Information Collection and Use
IMPORTANT: We do NOT store your personal data on our servers. All data processing occurs locally on your device or through third-party services that you authorize.
The Application collects and uses the following types of information:
- Journal Entries: Your journal entries, notes, moods, drawings, recordings, and attachments are stored locally on your device and are only accessible to you. We do not have access to this data.
- Google Sign-In for Subscription Identification: When you sign in with Google, we use your email address ONLY to generate a unique, non-reversible customer ID for subscription management. This process:
- Uses cryptographic hashing (SHA-256) to create a secure identifier
- The generated ID cannot be reversed to obtain your email address
- We do NOT store your email address or any personal information on our servers
- The ID is used solely to link your subscription status with RevenueCat
- Your email is processed locally on your device and never transmitted to our servers
- Subscription Data: If you subscribe to premium features, we use RevenueCat to process your subscription. RevenueCat receives the non-reversible customer ID (not your email) to manage your subscription status. We do not store payment information – this is handled entirely by RevenueCat and app stores.
- Analytics Data: Firebase Analytics may collect anonymous usage data to help us improve the app experience, such as feature usage, crash reports, and performance metrics. This data is aggregated and does not identify individual users.
- Device Information: We may collect anonymous device identifiers, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting and support purposes. This information is not linked to your personal identity.
Google Drive Backup and Scope Usage
If you choose to use the Google Drive backup feature, the Application requires the “drive.file” scope permission. Here’s why:
- Purpose: The Application needs permission to create and manage backup files in your Google Drive account. This scope allows the app to:
- Create a dedicated backup folder called “JournalApp_Backups” in your Google Drive
- Upload your encrypted journal backups to this folder
- List and restore backup files when needed
- Delete old backups if you choose to do so
- Scope Limitation: The “drive.file” scope is restrictive and secure. It ONLY allows the Application to:
- Access files that the Application itself creates (not your other files)
- Manage files in the dedicated “JournalApp_Backups” folder
- The Application CANNOT access, read, or modify any other files in your Google Drive
- Data Storage: Your journal data backups are stored directly in YOUR Google Drive account, not on our servers. This data is only accessible to you through your Google account. You can revoke this access at any time through your Google Account settings.
Third Party Access
Please note that the Application utilizes third-party services that have their own Privacy Policy about handling data. Below are the links to the Privacy Policy of the third-party service providers used by the Application:

The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:
- as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
- when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
- with their trusted services providers who work on their behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.
Data Security and Data Storage
The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. Most importantly:
- We do NOT store your personal data on our servers. All processing happens locally on your device or through authorized third-party services.
- Your journal entries are stored locally on your device and encrypted when using app lock features. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to create a backup.
- Google Sign-In email is used ONLY to generate a unique customer ID using one-way cryptographic hashing. Your email is processed locally and is never stored or transmitted to our servers. The generated ID cannot be reversed to obtain your email.
- Google Drive backups are stored securely in your Google Drive account with standard Google security measures. We only have access to files we create in the dedicated backup folder.
- All authentication data is handled through secure OAuth protocols provided by Google. We never see or store your Google password.
- Subscription data is processed securely through RevenueCat’s payment infrastructure. We only receive your subscription status, not your payment details.
Data Retention
Your journal data stored locally on your device will remain on your device until you delete the Application or manually delete the data. Google Drive backups will remain in your Google Drive account until you manually delete them. If you uninstall the Application, locally stored data will be deleted, but Google Drive backups will remain unless you delete them separately.

You have the right to:
- Access your personal data stored in the Application
- Delete your data by uninstalling the Application or using in-app deletion features
- Export your data through the Google Drive backup feature
